The world population reached 7.6 billion as of mid-2017. The world has added approximately one billion inhabitants over the last twelve years.

Even with the high death rates of those living in poverty, the world population is still expanding at an incredible rate.

So to achieve true sustainability we need to balance economic, social and environmental sustainability factors in equal harmony, living within the means of our natural resources.

There is a growing movement of women who have elected not to have children which will lead to a reduced demand for resources in the future. These choices are not easy to make when there are so many social pressures to become a mother and fit in with the rest of society.
